Eastern Queens Defy Eid ul Adha Holiday to Meet National Executive

Unity! Love!
The Power Queens Club members in the Eastern Region defy the Eid ulAdha Holiday to meet the newly elected Power Queens National Executive Members at the Regional Office.
The National Executive members present were:

• Queen Belinda Yebuah-Dwamena------President
• Queen Josephine Ababio--------Vice President
• Queen Tamara Barnor-------Secretary
• Queen Benedicta Carr-------Treasurer
• Queen Sarah Sarkodie Anim------Sports Organizer
• Queen Julian Tswayo----Porter

The National Queens did not only come to familiarize with the queens in the region but they also used the opportunity to organise a seminar on the theme " Enhancing your personal and Corporate Image."

Forty-two (42) regional queens from the following districts attended the programme:

• Oda
• Akwatia
• Tafo
• Begoro
• Nkawkaw
• Asesewa
• Mpraeso
• Kibi
• Asamankese
• New Abirem
• Donkorkrom and
• Koforidua.

At the end of the programme, participants were very happy with the new National Power Queens Executive. According to them, though they have been in office for a very short period, they seem to focus on the enhancement of our performance at work and the future seems bright with such a wonderful administration.

RD ADVISES QUEENS

The Regional Director, who was also the Chairman at the Queens end of year party used the occasion to advise the queens. According to him, our motto....UNITY & LOVE should reflect in anything we do. We should avoid attitudes which will lead to division and hatred amongst us........"For united we stand, divided we fall".

I pray that all the queens present will heed to that advice.

Eastern Queens End of Year Party

The Power Queens Club in the Eastern Region had its end of year party at the Kama Plaza on the 20th December 2008. Folks, it was fun... fun.... fun and there were lots to eat and drink. We danced till day break. The Regional Director, the Human Resource Manager, Welfare chairman, Union Chairman, and SSA representatives were there to grace the occasion. The men were not left out.......they bought tickets @ GH10.00 and joined the queens to make merry.
The queens have requested for an 'encore' this year.

Thoughts for the day!

It is always better to take a first step in everything you wish for yourself and the end result will be the desires of your heart. Fellow queens, don't give up!!!! Go ahead! Go for what you dream for yourself!!!! don't look back!! Go go go go higher!!!

The Power of Women!!!!!!!?????

Silvia Abokuma Sarsah of the Data Unit tied the knot last Saturday, 21st June, 2008 with Mr Azumah of B.O.S.T. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Accra.

Rainstorm damages the Stores Dept.

My Feelings
Oh God of wonders! I nearly went for my Bible yesterday to ask for last minute forgiveness of sins like the man on the Calvary Cross. Yeh folks, I thought the world was coming to an end. The black man will say-fiilli filli. I saw it live! The direction of the rain storm was such that you cannot predict the exact bearing. It was moving SSW to SSE to NNW to SSN to NNE or whatever. I was just praying that nobody will be hurt cos it looks like the Jesus was coming. lol.

The Sound
I was standing upstairs just watching the rains and also praying within me. I heard BOOM! What could that be??????
The roofing sheets of the stores department went off just like a flying paper. Oh my God! The goods?????????? what about if they are not water proof??????????

Inside the Stores.
I quickly left my phones and entered the stores. What a waste! That part was the stationary side and guess what everything was wet.

I entered the supervisors office and realised that his computers also had a share of the 'showers of blessings'. His office had a ceiling and was not as terrible as the main warehouse. The stores accounts office had its own share too.
Cost
The cost of damage will be more than ten thousand Ghana New Cedis (GH¢10 000).

Dissolution and Fresh Elections

The Power Queens- Eastern will dissolve the current executive and elect new executive in June this year. The 'house' has therefore opened nominations from all the thirteen (13) districts to contest for the available positions. These positions are:

The Organizing Secretary
The Financial Secretary
The Treasurer
The Porter
The Chaplain and
The Sports Organizer

All Queens are encouraged to take up leadership positions in the club to prepare them for future challenges.

Politicians and sex scandals-

It keeps happening. Recklessly, shamelessly, cavalierly —
Congressmen, senators, governors, presidents, mayors, members of parliament— politicians at all levels keep starring in this familiar and non-partisan soap opera rerun. They engage in clandestine sexual entanglements, commonly cloaked in the tawdry textures of hotel pseudonyms and airport bathrooms and pay-by-the-hour copulation. All too often, their stealthy frolics then poison their political careers.

And now add to the lengthening list, the latest sex scandal- Gov. Eliot Spitzer, husband, father of three teenage daughters, who authorities on Monday said had been involved with a ring of prostitutes.

What about our own Member of Parliament? Honourable Richard Anane? How could he attend an HIV/AIDS conference and return with a 'pikinabolo'? Where were the condoms for distribution?


Whose fault? folks? Are we really the necessary 'EVIL'?
