Behind Every Successful Man, There is a ...............

As the saying goes- behind every successful man, there is a woman. Barack Obama's wife, michelle is like a 'pillar' behind the husband. She boosts his moral both at home and in public.
The New York Governor who betrayed his wife by sleeping with prostitutes still have the full support of the wife in this time of humiliations.

How many of us are able to stand by our husbands in times of difficulties? Some Queens are not even able to keep their 'dirty linen' at home! Yes! I know what I'm saying cos I always hear "my husband did this and he did that". Then another queen will reply 'hwe'!! "yours is better cos mine is worse"!!!! Oh No , Queens!! Let's stop and protect them like our precious ornaments. Cos we are one in body and what affects them affects us as well. I love you all. Stay blessed

Women- the downfall of men????? NY Govn'r

Politicians and sex scandals-

It keeps happening. Recklessly, shamelessly, cavalierly —
Congressmen, senators, governors, presidents, mayors, members of parliament— politicians at all levels keep starring in this familiar and non-partisan soap opera rerun. They engage in clandestine sexual entanglements, commonly cloaked in the tawdry textures of hotel pseudonyms and airport bathrooms and pay-by-the-hour copulation. All too often, their stealthy frolics then poison their political careers.

And now add to the lengthening list, the latest sex scandal- Gov. Eliot Spitzer, husband, father of three teenage daughters, who authorities on Monday said had been involved with a ring of prostitutes.

What about our own Member of Parliament? Honourable Richard Anane? How could he attend an HIV/AIDS conference and return with a 'pikinabolo'? Where were the condoms for distribution?

Whose fault? folks? Are we really the necessary 'EVIL'?

Kudos to the Pharoahs of Egypt

Power Queens-Eastern supported the Black Stars with all our heart, mind, soul and substance but they disappointed us. It was the Pharoahs of Egypt who lifted the 'Golden Cup'.
It was never 'Host and Win' but rather 'Host and Weep'.
We really wept and these two queens faces show how sad they were. We also used the occassion to disconnect defaulters and spread the word about HIV/AIDS.

"We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible."
That is the National President of the Power Queens Club with a queen on her right. She is a very confident woman who believes that with purpose and determination, Power Queens will move from one level to another
The Black Stars nearly won the Ghana 2008 cup but they gave the glory to a guinea fowl man. Guess what? They couldn't concentrate when he did not come to the field during the semi finals match with the Cameroun Elephants last Saturday.
Please focus on God because the Bible says that- "With God, all things are possible."

Mass Disconnection

The Power Queens in the Eastern Region embarked on a mass disconnection exercise last week, 4th to 7th February, 2008. We chose that period because it was very strategic due to the Ghana 2008 football fiesta.
Customers rushed to the office to pay their bills to avoid being disconnected. The disconnection exercise spread like 'bush fire in a harmattan season'. You will be surprised to know that, the defaulters in the other surburb readily produced their receipts when we got there to disconnect them. Guess what?????>>>?? They paid just the day before we got there!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Thats Magbad (right) and Mary (left) on the move

Observation
On our rounds, we realised that, some customers have both the prepaid and the credit meters on the same premises but are not issued with the post paid credit bills.
We also realised that, the Goecodes are not properly coded and it's really hectic trying to locate a particular defaulter.
Some compound houses have only one meter which automatically puts them in the 'penalty zone'
Most landlords are ignorant that it is now very easy to apply for a seperate meter.
Illegal Connection

Queen Joycelyn Quaye, Susana Quartey and Josephine Dual detected illegal connections in some houses. The culprits were booked and the exact locations given to the Loss Control Unit for further action.
Suggestions

All the meters should be changed to prepaid to avoid contract staff who cannot be trusted. This will go a long way to reduce crooks who connive with customers to defraud the company.

The maps should be updated often to make it easier to locate meters.

Mass education should be given to households on electricity consumption.

The meter readers should make the office aware of households which have only one meter but many tenants so that provision for additional meters will be made available to them

"If you can dream it, you can do it."

Dear Queens, what do you wish for yourself? A better life? Then, you better start working towards it cos the Bible says that 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us'. Dream BIG and make it BIG in life in Jesus Name, AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to draw closer to your mother-in-law

"You don't have to be alike to like each other."

One afternoon I came across a list of my mother-in-law labeled, "Things to do when I get back to the States." Underneath phrases like "check the mail" and "call Mike and Sharon," I carefully penciled in the words, "send Shawnee chocolate chip cookies," just to do something unexpected to make her laugh. She did laugh, and returned the favor with her own jokes over the next several days.

As I learned during my two weeks in Central America, throwing aside your culturally built-in fear of your mother-in-law is only as difficult as you make it. So how can you take the first step toward finding the friend in your mother-in-law?

Make Contact!

Communication:

It's key to any friendship—but especially with the one woman in the world who loves your husband as much as you do. After investing 18 years or more of her life in this man, she's unprepared for him to "disappear" into the world you two create. So the simple act of keeping your mother-in-law informed on the happenings of your daily life with her son will draw her to you like nothing else.

Give Peace a Chance

Laurie spent several hours one afternoon telling me how much her mother-in-law disliked her, and how much she wished they could get along. Speaking with the older woman a few days later, I heard almost the exact same story. "Laurie doesn't like me, and I don't think she ever will," Evelyn moaned as she stirred her coffee, "but I'd give anything if we could just be friends." The unrest between the two women has gone on for years, but neither's willing to take the risks involved in mending the relationship.

Wanting to be liked is a basic human instinct—so instead of assuming the worst, think of your relationship with your mother-in-law as a friendship waiting to be built rather than a wall needing to be torn down.

Let God Be the Glue

"The basis of our friendship is our shared Christian faith," says Gayle Gresham, a writer in Colorado. "I start many of our conversations with, 'I have a theological question for you … ' and we both know we're about to have an interesting, enlightening conversation."

By building their relationship on the One who never changes, both women have a solid meeting ground. As the younger Christian, Gayle has learned to lean on her mother-in-law for spiritual support. "Helene's been my mentor since the beginning of my marriage. She's answered my questions and helped me grow in my faith."

Not every woman's blessed with the gift of a Christian mother-in-law, however. If your mother-in-law isn't yet a Christian, pray for her and continue your efforts to share Christ's love with her.

Dear Queens, which class can you identify yourself? How do you see yourself in five years to come? Are you developing yourself?

OR have your taken the advice our past President, Auntie Amerley gave us at the last Delegates' Congress at Elmina Beach Resort to develope yourself to be able to face future challenges?

OR you're OK at your current position in life so you don't think there is any need to 'better' yourself by schooling?

It's up to you to examine yourself to know which class you are.

Great acts are really made of of small deeds. I wonder how you have planned to make this year a successful year. If you don't believe me, ask any Orderly or the Nursing Assistants how much they are earning a month. You will really count yourself blessed with what you are earning here.

The executives and junior staff representatives from the regions met at the Power Queens Headquarters to choose the uniform for the junior staff.
The bidders were two with two different kinds of fabrics. One was from China and the other from South Africa.
The China fabric and style is the cream coloured inner wear with blue skirt and trouser suit.
The South Africa's is the white inner and the skirt and trouser suit in see in the picture.
After voting, the house chose the fabric and style from China.
The sad aspect is that, I really loved the South Africa's wear but I had only three other regions to support me. So folks that 's it!!!!!!!!!!!!! At loooooooooooooooog last
